Hamann Downplays Musiala Criticism, Draws Comparisons to Müller
Former German international Dietmar Hamann has downplayed criticism of Jamal Musiala, comparing the Bayern Munich midfielder to former Bayern and Germany star Thomas Müller.
Despite Musiala's recent struggles for Bayern, Hamann believes the 19-year-old has the potential to become a world-class player.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Hamann said: "I think Musiala is a huge talent. He's still very young and has a lot to learn, but he has all the attributes to become a world-class player."
Hamann drew comparisons between Musiala and Müller, who has been a key player for Bayern and Germany for over a decade.
"Musiala reminds me a lot of Müller," said Hamann. "He's not the fastest or the strongest player, but he's incredibly intelligent and has a great understanding of the game."
Musiala has been criticized for his performances in recent weeks, but Hamann believes the youngster will come good in the long run.
"Every player goes through periods of form, and Musiala is no exception," said Hamann. "But I have no doubt that he will come good in the end."
