Happy Face Wins World's Ugliest Dog Contest
Annual Event Crowned Hairless Chinese Crested
Dogs of All Backgrounds Compete for Title
On Friday, NBC's Kerry Sanders served as a judge at the 2022 World's Ugliest Dog contest in Petaluma, California, and helped crown a new winner: Happy Face, a 17-year-old hairless Chinese Crested dog.
Out of a field that included a hairless mutant with no teeth and a crooked face, a creature that resembled a hyena or mandrill, and dogs of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds, Happy Face emerged victorious.
The annual event, held at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma, celebrates the beauty of all dogs, regardless of their appearance. This year's contest was particularly competitive, with dogs from all over the world vying for the coveted title.
