Boeing Whistleblower Dead Cause

Boeing whistleblower found dead in truck

Former Boeing quality manager raised concerns about potential safety issues

Joshua Dean's death is being investigated by the Charleston County coroner

A prominent Boeing whistleblower has been found dead in his truck in the parking lot of a Boeing plant in South Carolina. Joshua Dean, a former quality manager at Boeing supplier Spirit AeroSystems, had raised concerns about potential safety issues with the company's 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Dean had filed a whistleblower complaint with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in 2021, alleging that Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems were not taking proper steps to address safety concerns with the 787 Dreamliner. He claimed that the companies were knowingly allowing defective parts to be installed on the aircraft, which could pose a serious safety risk.

Boeing has denied Dean's allegations, and the company said it is cooperating with the investigation into his death.

Dean's death has raised concerns about the safety of the 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft has been involved in several incidents in recent years, including a fatal crash in Ethiopia in 2019. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has ordered Boeing to make changes to the aircraft's design, and the company has temporarily halted production of the 787 Dreamliner.

The investigation into Dean's death is ongoing, and it is not yet clear what caused his death. However, his death has raised concerns about the safety of the 787 Dreamliner and the treatment of whistleblowers in the aviation industry.
