La Lakers Vs Denver Nuggets

Denver Nuggets Rally to Knock Out Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4

Nuggets Advance to Second Round with 4-0 Series Sweep

Jamal Murray's Buzzer-Beater Seals Game 2 Victory

Denver, CO (April 20, 2024) - The Denver Nuggets completed a remarkable four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, securing their place in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.

In a thrilling Game 4 at Ball Arena, the Nuggets rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to emerge victorious, 113-111. Lakers star Anthony Davis led all scorers with 33 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome a heroic performance from Denver's Jamal Murray.

Murray, who missed the entire regular season due to a torn ACL, exploded for 31 points, including the game-winning buzzer-beater. With just seconds remaining, Murray stepped back and drained a jumper over Lakers defender Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

"It's an incredible feeling," said Murray after the game. "I've been working so hard to get back on the court, and to make a play like that in a game as big as this is unreal."

The Nuggets' victory was a testament to their resilience and determination. Despite trailing by as many as 20 points in the second half, they never gave up, chipping away at the Lakers' lead with every possession.

"This team is special," said Nuggets coach Michael Malone. "They showed tonight that they have the heart of a champion. We're going to enjoy this moment, but we're not done yet."

The Lakers, who finished the regular season as the eighth seed in the West, were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round for the second consecutive year.

"We didn't play our best basketball in this series," said Lakers coach Frank Vogel. "We have a lot of work to do in the offseason, but I'm confident that we can come back stronger next year."

The Nuggets will now face the winner of the series between the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies in the second round of the playoffs.
